…featuring the works of Brett Conway, Dana Genshaft, Nick Korkos and Laura O’Malley

SFDanceworks presents a raw and intimate evening of dance that illuminates the choreographic process. 4PLAY is a chance for 4 emerging choreographers (Brett Conway, Dana Genshaft, Nick Korkos, Laura O'Malley) to PLAY with ideas in the studio and experiment with staging their ideas in a relaxed environment, with the focus being more on process rather than product. 4PLAY choreographers will also collaborate with Freely Mad Productions to create films that support and extend their work, inviting the audience to deepen their understanding of the choreographic process.

Our Mission:

SFDanceworks is a repertory company dedicated to the past, present, and future of dance as an art form through high quality live performance.  SFDanceworks aims to present the choreography of dance masters and current established artists, as well as commissioned work.

SFDanceworks was founded in 2014 by James Sofranko, soloist dancer with the San Francisco Ballet.

SFDanceworks invites and deserves all manner of generous support. Intelligent direction by Sofranko that sets aside ego and instant gratification in favor of curating programs consciously, and with an eye cultivated by the past but cast toward the future, should be prized and appraised with heartfelt enthusiasm and commitment. Bravo!
