Katie Lake received her primary dance training at the Dance Studio of Wakefield & Northeast School of Ballet where she studied classical ballet, pointe, partnering, modern, contemporary, jazz, & tap.
She received additional training at the Boston Ballet School, the Joffrey School of Ballet, Miami City Ballet, & Kaatsbaan International Dance Center.
Katie went on to graduate from Alonzo King LINES Ballet's BFA program with Dominican University of California. While at LINES, she had the pleasure of working with artists such as Alonzo King, Maurya Kerr, Amanda K. Miller, Arturo Fernandez, Gregory Dawson, & Christian Burns, among others.
After graduation, Katie performed with Garrett + Moulton Productions in San Francisco for their Swiss tour of "Stringwreck" with the Del Sol String Quartet.
Immediately following her performance tour through Switzerland, Katie auditioned for and joined the Ballett of Saarländisches Staatstheater in Saarbrücken, Germany, where she lived and danced professionally for 4 years. While in Saarbrücken, Katie performed in 50+ performances a year of contemporary repertoire by world renowned artists such as Ohad Naharin, Johan Inger, Alexander Ekman, Stijn Celis, Marguerite Donlon, Mark Baldwin, & Kenneth MacMillan, among others.
Katie joined Gibney Dance Company in NYC for their 2017-2018 season. While with the company, she performed in a new creation by Bryan Arias & in works by GDC Senior Director, Amy Miller.
Katie is currently freelancing and based in NYC.
